Flight Instructor Duties
SPARKS is always in need of qualified Flight Instructors. Contact any Board member if interested.
Chief Flight Instructor Duties
-
Facilitate SPARKS Introductory Pilot Program based on AMA regulations and guidelines
-
Maintain SPARKS inventory of electric fixed wing RC training devices
-
Coordinate Student/Flight Instructor sessions
-
Prepare and maintain web based and hard copy flight training materials
-
Hold periodic Flight Instructor meetings
-
Ensure compliance with established AMA and SPARKS procedures
Flight Instructor Duties
-
Support SPARKS Introductory Pilot Program based on AMA regulations and guidelines

Train Students using established web based and hard copy flight training materials
-
Ensure student is registered with AMA at least 48 hours before field training
-
Support other Flight Instructors by cross training
-
Comply with established AMA and SPARKS procedures
Qualifications for both instructor positions

Member in current standing with AMA and SPARKS
-
Recognized by peers as competent
-
Has a current AMA Introductory Pilot (IP) designation
-
Has read and understood the Academy Of Model Aeronautics Safety Program Handbook
-
Can perform the 13 maneuvers outlined in the AMA Introductory Pilot Instructor Selection Criteria
